Everyone who knows me knows how much I appreciate beer. Some of you have
even been courageous enough to drink my very own homebrew and lived to
talk about it. Home brewing has been a hobby of mine since 1996 and I
have learned many tricks and techniques along the way. Whenever I would
walk into a microbrewery, my wife Angela would have to peel me away from
the glass wall as I was checking out the brew kettle, fermenters and all
of the other curious things I could set my eyes upon. She has witnessed
my process of absolutely trashing our kitchen and the only complaint
from her has been, "the house smells like horse feed". It is truly a
wonderful smell! Angela, who is absolutely amazing in everyway, did the
most incredible thing for me this year on my birthday and contacted Joe
Short on my behalf. She set up a day to brew a batch of Mystery Stout
with the Beer Liberator himself! What a blast it was and the crew out
there at the Shorts Brewery in Bellaire are the best! Joe's attention to
detail was apparent with every stage of the process from sanitation all
the way to pitching the yeast. It is no wonder why the reputation is so
Stellar! I asked Joe how he developed his style of brewing and he
responded, "I have a weak pallet so I guess that’s why I brew my beer so
damned strong." If you love hops and deep flavors like I do, Shorts is
the place to be. Make sure you stop by the Short's counter at the
Microbrew and Music Festival to have a frosty glass of wonderful
goodness. Kitchen Choreography will be providing 30 feet of hand crafted
bar sections for the various brewers in the Elite tent to serve up their
version of hand crafted beer.
Cheers!

Kitchen Choreography watched the Traverse City Beach Bums crush their
opponent on Wednesday, July 28th after a vigorous round of miniature
golf at Pirates Cove. The game was courtesy of one of our Cambria
quartz counter top supplier, Lakeside Solid Surface. They are a
wholesale provider of DuPont Corian along with a host of other counter
top options. A great time was had by all and the next outing is just
around the corner!
